Rex Timbs is currently the Deputy Director of the University of Michigan Center for Health Communications Research (CHCR). He has responsibility for directing all intervention development and technical implementation activities of the center. Mr. Timbs has over 20 years of software development and team leadership experience, including Director of Engineering for HealthMedia, Inc. and Chief Technical Architect for Johnson & Johnson's Wellness & Prevention, Inc., leading companies in tailored health communication. He was also a Solution Architect for J&J corporate development, overseeing large scale web deployments and directing iOS app prototyping.
Mr. Timbs has significant experience in the commercial IT space and consults in the areas of business development, commercialization, and the use of technology within healthcare. He works frequently with the University of Michigan Office of Technology Transfer and other initiatives which assist researchers in evaluating inventions and ideas for commercial application.
