Srikar Chamala, PhD

Dr. Srikar Chamala is an Associate Professor at the University of Southern California and the Director of Pathology Informatics and Data Science at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

Dr. Chamala has published expertise and a major research interest in developing computation methods, tools, and infrastructure for effective delivery of precision genomic data for clinical care and translation research. Dr Chamala’s work intersects fields of clinical genomics, bioinformatics, and medical informatics.

Recently, he was awarded Sync for Genes Phase 5 project from The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) for Standardizing Genomic Variant Sharing and Interpretation for Clinical Knowledge. He is a co-chair for HL7 Genomics working group and co-champion of GenomeX accelerated program where he is co-leading genomic data exchange and operations tracks.
